Lineage and Names Correction Committee 
Committee Terms of Reference:
1.To record the applications received by the Committee in its schedules and to set up sessions for their consideration.
2.Prepare a file for each application, follow up the proceedings and prepare a schedule of meetings and present them to the Chairman of the Committee for distribution to the investigators.
3.Prepare the applications for deliberation in the sessions, then send them to the Technical Office for the preparation of reports.
4.Refer the files of the cases to the competent body of the court to schedule the hearing before the judge, and notification of the concerned parties to follow them up before the judiciary.
5.Conduct investigations that investigators are required to conduct.
6.Preparation and processing of the lawsuit to make it suitable for consideration and presentation to the Chairman of the Committee.
The organizational structure of the Committee consists of the following units:
 
First: Investigations Office
It includes a number of members of the Public Prosecution who are appointed by a decision of the Minister of Justice after the approval of the Supreme Judicial Council for a renewable period of two years, and is competent to conduct investigations in the applications submitted to the Committee and referred to it by the Chairman of the Committee.

Second: Technical Office:
It is composed of a number of judges and members of the Public Prosecution. They are appointed by the Minister of Justice after the approval of the Supreme Judicial Council. It is responsible for preparing legal and Shariah research, providing technical assistance, examining requests and expressing opinions on matters referred to it.

Third: The Secretariat, composed of the following sections:
o Reception and Follow-up Section, specialized with the following; 
1.Records the requests received by the Committee in its own schedules and submits them to the Controller to schedule the hearings..
2.Prepare a file for each application, follow up the requests according to the follow-up statements of the cases, prepare the schedule of hearings and present them to the Chairman of the Committee for distribution to the investigators.
3.Prepare the requests for deliberation in the sessions, and then send them to the Technical Office for the preparation of reports.
4.Refer the files to the competent authority in the court to schedule the hearing to be heard before the judge.
5.Notification of the concerned parties of referring  the case to the court for follow-up before the courts.
o Investigation Affairs Section, specialized with the following:
1.Conduct investigations that investigators are required to conduct.
2.Prepare the lawsuit to make it suitable for consideration and presentation to the Chairman of the Committee.
o Secretarial and Typing Section, specialized in the following: 
1.To implement and circulate the decisions issued by the Chairman of the Committee, prepare the correspondence to be prepared, schedule  the appointments and all related matters.
2.Recording, indexing and archiving incoming and outgoing correspondence.
3.Carrying out personnel affairs.
4.Perform typing and photocopying work.
5.Save the papers and files.
